Boston City Council Meets to Discuss Improved Trash Storage Standards

Boston, MA. The Boston City Council Committee on City, Neighborhood Services and Veteran Affairs held a public hearing on Thursday to discuss various ideas for improving trash storage standards in an effort to reduce the amount of litter and control the rodent population. Mint-X COO Jeff Dussich spoke briefly at the hearing, discussing the recent Ordinance in the City of Revere that mandates the use of rodent-resistant trash bags as a cost-effective and space-saving alternative to trash bins and containers. Mr. Dussich informed the committee and the attendees about the benefits of rodent proof trash bags and their applicability for areas of Boston where bins and containers are impractical. Boston is the latest major city that recognizes the need for improved trash storage standards as a method to reduce the amount of rodent-torn bags and the subsequent mess that it causes.
